Immersing yourself in a week of yoga is an amazing way to feel strong, radiant and alive in both your body and soul. Add to this the beauty of the Maine coast and the welcoming heartfelt community of Ferry Beach and you have the perfect yoga retreat.
What Can You Expect From This Immersion?
This is non-judgmental yoga designed to meet you right where you are in your practice. For the beginner or yogi with limitations, modifications will be offered as well as the simpler version of the poses, and for the more experienced yogi-expect to take your practice to a new level and gain insights into ways your practice can renew and transform.
Anne Falkowski has been teaching yoga for over 15 years. She owns her own yoga studio and co-teaches a 200 hour yoga teacher training program with with her life partner, Matthew. Together they have graduated over 200 yoga teachers. She is also a yoga columnist for elephantjournal.com.
Anne teaches from the belief that we all need to learn how to listen to the wisdom of our bodies. The practice of yoga is the perfect vehicle to learn this. Through the cultivation of breath, concentration, self-observation with compassion, and postures, the yogi learns discernment and skills that carry off the mat and into his or her life. During this yoga week, the practitioner will learn the right time to challenge and the right time to nurture. This will create a healing and whole experience based on inner guidance as opposed to external authority.
Typical Schedule will include (all is optional): Sunrise meditation on the beach; 9:30am-noon Yoga immersion includes yoga philosophy and relationship to our lives, chanting, breath work, postures, deep relaxation; noon – 4 beach/free time; 4-5:15 Afternoon Yoga which may include music; 7:30-9pm yoga inspired conversation, movies and free time.
